Don't Wait For the Hilton Head Buying Frenzy

I frequent the Hilton Head region of South Carolina periodically throughout the year. It’s truly a mecca for golfers and those into water sports as I am. I especially like Sea Pines, Hilton Head’s oldest and most reputable plantation. It’s over 55 square miles and has around 35,000 people residing there.

Hilton Head real estateDuring my latest trip I took the time off from surfing to look at what was available for Hilton Head real estate and was astounded by what I saw. Not only are there plenty of properties that I’d be happy to call “home”, but prices had dropped considerably over last year when I’d lasted looked at any Hilton Head real estate. I suppose with the economy and housing market being what it is it was bound to affect coastal regions like Hilton Head eventually. That’s good news for me though since now there would be a whole lot more Hilton Head real estate that I could afford than there was before.

The housing market won’t stay this way. Interest rates will begin to go up just as soon as the employment rates do and that, my friends, is just around the corner. There’s no better time to put people to work than the summer months and there is evidence already that, as just one example, new home building permits are on the increase. Don't wait for the buying frenzy to hit here or you'll wind up paying a whole lot more in bidding wars for a property you could get at less cost right now.

Living in Surfside Beach

Surfside Beach real estateMy love of the sand, sea and sun were the reasons I bought Surfside Beach real estate. I was looking for a place to relocate to where the cost of living was less than up north. Then I discovered coastal South Carolina. At that time Surfside Beach real estate could be purchased for half of what the same properties cost in my town up north. Property taxes and utilities were lower, as was the overall cost of living. It really was a no brainer for me to move here.

There are plenty of opportunities for investing in Surfside Beach real estate here while the interest rates are so low. It’s a fabulous opportunity to make boatloads of money if you sell down the road. For now though you could move here or else just own your own vacation rental and make money that way. Rental property in this area is extremely popular and income generating.

I found life here to be slower paced and people are just plain happier, more pleasant to be around than those up north. Southern hospitality is  every where you go around here. There are lots of things to do year round no matter what you want. From golf to shopping and fishing to theatre, it can all be found here.

What's Not to Like About That!

Myrtle Beach oceanfront condos for saleIf you’ve been holding out all this time and are now ready to make the plunge into real estate since time is definitely running out, that’s fabulous news. I came across some condos while looking around in North Myrtle Beach. These Myrtle Beach oceanfront condos for sale have everything I would ask for in a condo and they are simply stunning to look at. You can tell from their website how luxurious and state of the art even the landscaping design is. Seeing that, can you just imagine what the inside of these Myrtle Beach oceanfront condos for sale looks like!

Affordable is downplaying how little I paid for the Myrtle Beach oceanfront condos for sale I picked up. I got a few as investment properties. Always a very wise investment move to pick up adjoining properties also for sale whenever possible. You then wind up with a much larger block of real estate making it the whole grouping worth far more.

I shouldn’t have any trouble renting these out to long term renters making triple the money it cost me to purchase them. I don’t see why more people don’t make these investments. It’s a great stream of income. I guess if they just purchased that first one they’d see that it pays for itself plus puts money into your pocket at the same time. What’s not to like about that!

Have a Rockin' Island Retirement

South Carolina retirement communitiesWhen you’re considering the many South Carolina retirement communities and trying to decide where would be the best place to buy investment property with your sights on living there eventually give Callawassie Island a look. It’s located off the southernmost tip of South Carolina and life here is rockin’. If you’re planning on an active, outdoor lifestyle when you retire Callawassie Island should be at the top of your list of South Carolina retirement communities.

What golfer wouldn't relish the opportunity to live and play on challenging courses on-demand, with elegant homes featuring sweeping views of manicured greens.

My Buddy Gets All the Breaks

Hilton Head condoIf you could live anywhere in the country that you wanted to, where would that be? I have a buddy that was just presented with that very decision and do you know what he did? He spent a month going up and down the east coast looking at areas where he thought he might want to live. When he was done traveling and looking around he happily settled into a Hilton Head condo on Hilton Head Island, SC.

He said of all the places he looked at Hilton Head Island is like paradise. The weather is awesome year round there plus there’s plenty of golf and knowing him there’s nothing more important than that. A Hilton Head condo is perfect for him as it provides plenty of amenities so he can live in style and the upkeep outside is taken care of for him. He’s not one to get into maintenance of his property. Probably because he’s always on the golf course!

Can you tell how envious I am? I plan on visiting him as often as he’ll allow me to. I’m hopeful that I can talk my wife into wanting to live in this piece of paradise too. To have our own Hilton Head condo to retreat to when we want to get away (and I need to golf) would be just heavenly.

Shopping for Hilton Head Homes

Hilton Head homesWe were shopping around for Hilton Head homes recently and are quite taken with one in particular located in gated Indigo Run. This is a spacious luxury home overlooking the 17th fairway. There’s an outdoor entertaining area and spa that we would use a lot. It’s 5 bedroom with a perfect floor plan for us. Hardwoods, coffered ceilings, crown molding, office, formal dining room and 3 car garage. There’s a beautiful chef’s kitchen my wife will love. Did I mention there’s stone and granite throughout it? Wow!

Did you know Hilton Head Island is the second largest barrier island on the east coast of the United States? It's located south of Charleston, South Carolina and north of Savannah, Georgia. I know that those owning Hilton Head homes enjoy a semitropical climate in a setting that resembles paradise. At last count there were approximately 35,000 permanent residents on the island.

Beautiful Hilton Head homes sit among 24 golf courses, hundreds of tennis courts and over 50 miles of public bike and nature trails. Residents here get to enjoy incredible fishing and boating. There are over 250 restaurants and you can enjoy any cultural persuasion nightly. Plenty of places to shop, too. You can browse more than 200 stores and outlets. There’s most assuredly plenty to do there on Hilton Head.

Enjoying Those Golf Course Views

Beaufort SC Golf Course CommunitiesBeaufort SC Golf Course Communities like those found on Callawassie Island have become a common feature in the Coastal Carolinas. Living with fairway frontage offers outstanding views, access to golf in an instant, a quality home in a safe neighborhood, and nobody building right up behind you.

Callawassie Island has Beaufort SC Golf Course Communities that while similar in some ways, are all quite different from one another. Some have their main focus on the golf course itself, while others are first and foremost residential neighborhoods. While the idea of the typical golf course community homeowner is a retiree and their golfing friends, many younger families are buying Beaufort SC Golf Course Communities on Callawassie Island for the beauty, quality and safety. They are buying a lifestyle and a home with an excellent appreciation value.

Depending upon where your home is located, there is the risk of stray balls ending up in your yard or through your window. Living on the golf course means permitting golfers onto your property to retrieve the occasional off-target ball. In general, most homeowners find these risks are worth the benefit of living in such a peaceful and beautiful location.

There are homes available as close or as far from the greens as you wish. There will be lovely homes across the street and within a few blocks of the course itself that still have all the conveniences of the close proximity to the course and the great neighborhood, but without the risk of stray balls and people walking on your property.

Myrtle Beach Foreclosures

Myrtle Beach ForeclosuresA large number of home buyers have found incredible deals in the way of Myrtle Beach Foreclosures. In some areas, the number of foreclosure homes accounts for at least 50% of the total number of homes for sale on the market, giving home buyers plenty of properties to choose from.

The precise amount of money that can be saved on the purchase of Myrtle Beach Foreclosures varies, but it is not unusual for a home buyer to save a significant amount of money. Oftentimes, the sales price depends upon the amount of money that was owed on the home at the time the previous owner defaulted on the mortgage loan. Lenders are in the same boat as homeowners in that they know they must price properties competitively to move them. This is good news for home buyers who are looking to save money.

While Myrtle Beach Foreclosures can provide tremendous savings, be forewarned that such homes are not completely free from problems. In many cases, the home may be in disrepair and the previous owners may have even damaged the home prior to moving out once they realized that foreclosure was inevitable. Certainly, this is not the case in all situations, but it is a possibility that buyers should be aware of.

In order to gain the most protection possible when considering the purchase of a property that has been foreclosed upon, home buyers are encouraged to have the property inspected whenever possible. Not only should they personally tour the property but also have a licensed real estate inspector provide them with a report of any possible problems with the home.
